Once a young prodigy among the Angelic Orders, Glasya-Labolas is a powerful and rebellious young demon who can command great power should he choose to do so. After joining the rebellion against the Orders, Labolas was cast out with the other beings (now considered demons) and it appears he did not take it well. Deeply intelligent and phenomenally gifted, the young Count studied as much as he could of the ancient wisdom of his people. He is a master of all of the secrets of the occult and can wield these secrets against his enemies if he chooses to do so.
Glasya-Labolas is thought to be somewhat moody and has a considerable dark side when upset. While he can teach his secrets to those who are loyal followers to him, he is also sometimes called the "author of bloodshed and manslaughter". When challenged this powerful demon will not hesitate to murder his enemies or the enemies of his friends. When tempted, he exercises his vast power through sheer force of violence and death, having little mercy for those who stand against him.
To those loyal to him he can teach almost anything. He knows everything there is to know about any subject, including the past and the future. He knows the secrets of making a person invisible and can even generate love and respect among both friends and foes alike.
In demon form Glasya-Labolas appears as a dog with wings like a griffin. In his human/angelic form he appears as a young man, a teenager perhaps, with short blonde hair and white wings. (x)
The skull fits nicely on the vest; it doesn't look like it was slapped on top. I like the stitches. They're a nice touch. I do notice that the collar and shoulders of the vest have several sketchy lines which take away from its sharpness; I'm not sure if it's supposed to be the seem or if you were just experimenting with slightly different cuts, but watch out for that next time. (I JUST NOTICED the shadow in the arch of his left foot, our right. It's beautiful)
I'm amazed by the puffy sleeves. I struggle with those exorbitantly. Hands, also, are another issue of mine... but right here, lookin' at yours, I am AMAZED. These are some darn gorgeous hands, Candy. Keep it up!
His face is so beautiful I could just STARE. I love the gray color in his glasses, it gets the point across while remaining simple. I also love that you didn't cover up his eyes with them. His eyes are beautiful. In fact, that's some of the prettiest eye you've ever drawn. Beeeeeeeeeautiful. His nose is simple but elegant, his jaw defined, and of course the hair just takes the cake, as it always does in your artwork. Beautiful.
This face right here seems more even more real, even more pure than a lot of the other faces I've seen you draw. I'm not sure what it is that makes me say that, but I think you should keep this up if at all possible. It's just that fabulous.
As a whole, this piece of art is quite dreamy and sullen. The writing suits and I love the font (though I personally feel they could be a little bit bolder and blacker). The white through the arch is a nice touch, perhaps a nod to the heaven from which he fell? I like how the brickwork looks like a mix of light and dark, but mostly dark, just like our crazy, scary, beautiful world. It definitely conveys the feelings you're looking for and it's a beautiful concept. And I still love his face.
